Isleta Bowl, c 1880

A finely crafted Isleta Pueblo earthenware bowl, dating to around 1880, exemplifying the artistry and tradition of 19th-century Southwestern Native American pottery. Hand-coiled and pit-fired, the bowl features the warm, natural hues characteristic of Isleta clay, with traces of red slip and subtle fire-clouding from the firing process.

Its elegant, rounded form and balanced proportions reflect both functional intent and aesthetic refinement. Pieces from this period are highly regarded for their simplicity of form and connection to daily Pueblo life.

Each curve and subtle marking tells a story of the maker’s hand. No two piece alike on found items. All dimensions approximate.

Dimensions: 8 x 3.5
